Uniqlo Drops New Sci-Fi Anime UT Collection Featuring Ghost in the Shell and Evangelion
Uniqlo, the popular Japanese clothing brand, has just announced a new collection that will excite fans of sci-fi anime. After recently confirming collections for Uzumaki and Gundam’s 45th anniversary, Uniqlo is now preparing for the release of graphic tees featuring two of the most iconic sci-fi anime in Japan – Masamune Shirow’s Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex and Hideaki Anno’s Evangelion.
Four Designs to Choose From
The collection will feature a total of four designs, with one black and one white style from each of the IPs. For Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, the black variant will showcase a sketch of a Tachikoma – a spider-type combat vehicle – from Section 9 alongside the anime’s title. The white option will feature a light green line drawing of Motoko Kusanagi, accompanied by one of her famous quotes: “If you’re dissatisfied with the world, change yourself.”
Evangelion Tees with Eye-Catching Designs
The Evangelion tees will also come in black and white options. The white version will display the title of its 2012 film, Evangelion: 3.0 YOU CAN (NOT) REDO on the front, while the back will be emblazoned with a red graphic starring EVA Unit-02. The black tee will have an eye-catching design on the front, featuring all three iconic EVA units in full-color print, accompanied by white lettering.
Available in Mid-May
Fans can get their hands on these stylish and unique tees for ¥1,990 JPY (approx. $13 USD) each. The collection will be available via Uniqlo in mid-May, so mark your calendars and get ready to show off your love for these iconic sci-fi anime.
