UNIQLO Celebrates 40 Years with Reissued Collaborations
Japanese clothing giant UNIQLO is marking its 40th anniversary in style by bringing back some of its most popular products from past collaborations. The brand, known for its affordable and functional designs, will be reissuing pieces from its partnerships with Engineered Garments, LEMAIRE, and Jil Sander.
First up is the 2015 collaboration between UNIQLO U creative director Christopher Lemaire and LEMAIRE. The collection will feature lambswool sweaters and sleeveless vests, perfect for staying warm and stylish this winter.
Next, NY-based design studio Engineered Garment’s highly sought-after fleece jackets and pullovers will be available in both adult and kids sizes. This is a great opportunity for parents and children to match their outfits and show off their fashion-forward style.
Lastly, Jil Sander’s +J collection, which first debuted in 2009, will make a comeback with a selection of broadcloth dress shirts, down jackets, and a cotton shirt jacket. These pieces are sure to add a touch of sophistication to any wardrobe.
What ties all of these collaborations together is the timeless style and functional design that UNIQLO is known for. This is a testament to the brand’s roots, which can be traced back to founder Tadashi Yanai’s inspiration from classic American retailers like the Gap. Since opening its first store in Hiroshima in 1984, UNIQLO has expanded globally and become a household name.
The reissued pieces will be available exclusively in-store in Japan on December 20 for Engineered Garments and LEMAIRE, and on January 1 for +J. Make sure to visit a participating UNIQLO store to get your hands on these limited edition items. Click here for a list of stores.
