Nike Honors Olympic Gold Medalist Cheung Ka-long with Special Edition Air Zoom Vomero 5
Nike Hong Kong is paying tribute to fencing champion Cheung Ka-long with a limited edition release of the Air Zoom Vomero 5. The sneaker, inspired by Cheung’s two Olympic gold medals, features a retro color scheme of cobalt blue, black, gray, and cream. The metallic panel swoosh represents his golden achievements, while his iconic motto “DON’T LOSE YOUR WAY” is incorporated into the design.
In a statement, Cheung expressed his belief that gold brings good fortune and his excitement for the collaboration. He also shared how the shoe’s design aligns with his approach to fencing, always finding new ways to excel within the sport’s rules and patterns.
Cheung made history as the first Hong Kong athlete to win two consecutive Olympic gold medals in fencing. During the 2024 Olympics, he defeated Italy’s Filippo Macchi with a score of 15-14. The Air Zoom Vomero 5 Special Edition will be available on December 14 for $1,099 HKD (approximately $140 USD).
