Nike Football (American football, that is) fans and Kobe Bryant stans alike may be muttering “Bah, humbug!” if they missed out on the surprise Thanksgiving Day drop of the Nike Kobe 6 “Grinch” Vapor Edge. But fear not, as the scaly style will see a full release on Christmas Eve. And just like the shock drop, these cleats will retail for $230 USD. Plus, keep an eye out for them on the NFL gridiron, with Nike-sponsored stars like Russell Wilson set to sport them on Christmas Day.
Update: Nike Revamps Iconic Kobe 6 “Grinch” Colorway for Vapor Edge Cleats
Word of Nike reworking Kobe Bryant’s iconic Kobe 6 “Grinch” colorway into a Vapor Edge (American) football cleat took the sneaker world by storm back in June. And now, just ahead of its highly anticipated launch date, we have a complete preview of the new look. As expected, the “Grinch” colorway has been replicated with its rich “Green Apple” presentation accented by black and red branding elements. The colorway’s signature snakeskin texture has also returned, while maintaining field-ready specifications thanks to the Vapor Edge’s performance-oriented build. These cleats are set to release on November 22 via Nike SNKRS and select retailers, with a starting price of $230 USD.
Original Story: Nike and Kobe Bryant’s Iconic “Grinch” Colorway Makes Its Way to the Football Field
Since its debut in 2010, the Nike Kobe 6 “Grinch” has been a standout in the Mamba footwear catalog. Despite a range of popular editions, the “Grinch” shoes have remained the most coveted due to their striking scaled appearance and eye-catching hue, without compromising on athletic performance. And now, the shoes are making their way from the basketball court to the football field with a new cleat version.
The upcoming release features the signature design of the Kobe 6 “Grinch” model, now on the Vapor Edge cleats. The scaled upper, curved heel decals, black Nike Swoosh, red Kobe logo, and Nike Zoom sole are all present, along with the various shades of “Grinch” green. The final touch is the addition of spikes for grip and traction on the Zoom sole. Given the popularity of the basketball version among professional players and everyday ballers, it’s no surprise that the new football version is expected to succeed on the field, tearing up real grass and turf alike.
The Nike Vapor Edge Kobe 6 SE “Grinch” will be priced at $230 USD and is set to release during the Holiday 2024 season. Stay tuned for more details on the cleats’ release.
