Japanese Outdoor Label Mountain Research Teams Up with London-Based Creative Group AFFXWRKS for Capsule Collection
Mountain Research, known for their durable and functional outdoor gear, has joined forces with AFFXWRKS, a London-based creative group, to create a capsule collection perfect for taking on the elements.
A Cross-Generational Creation: Mountain Research x AFFXWRKS Collaboration
The collaboration between Mountain Research and AFFXWRKS, dubbed as a “perfect mixed martial arts battle,” was born out of a strong friendship between AFFX’s brand director Taro Ray and Mountain Research founder Setsumasa Kobayashi. The result is a fusion of the two labels’ signature styles: Mountain Research’s love for the great outdoors and AFFXWRKS’ modern utilitarianism.
Hero Piece: Wading Jacket
The standout piece in the collection is the wading jacket, featuring a hood with a face-covering flap, multiple pockets, and dual iconography on the sleeve.
Functional and Stylish: Overalls and Long-Sleeve T-Shirt
The overalls and long-sleeve T-shirt both feature a similar design with ample storage in various sizes, perfect for any outdoor adventure. The long-sleeve T-shirt also showcases a unique layering effect with a grey-green short-sleeve top over a black long-sleeve.
