PUMA Unveils Bold New Campaign for Squid Game Collection
In the iconic sleeping quarters of the Squid Game facilities, PUMA has just dropped a game-changing campaign to coincide with the release of its highly anticipated Squid Game collection. The collection features tracksuits inspired by the contestant uniforms from the hit South Korean Netflix show, as well as two eye-catching sneakers from PUMA’s classic silhouettes.
The sportswear giant puts its own spin on the iconic Squid Game uniform, using black and mint green velour and incorporating the show’s signature Escher-esque staircase design. Along with the tracksuits, PUMA also offers a cozy co-branded hoodie in black, red, and green, as well as a long puffer coat featuring the game-master mask on the back.
But that’s not all – the collection also includes two graphic tees and matching backpacks to complete the look. And for footwear, PUMA takes inspiration from the show’s vibrant set design with its reinterpretations of the Easy Rider and Suede models.
The PUMA x SQUID GAME Easy Rider boasts blueish-green leather uppers with dark red suede overlays and a matching lining. The cream midsoles are accented with brown outsoles that peek out at the toe and heel, and the shoe even comes with a rubber tag resembling the schoolgirl mascot, found printed on the insoles.
For those looking for a more expressive option, the PUMA x SQUID GAME Suede features a pastel technicolor palette inspired by the surreal interiors of the Squid Game facility. The asymmetrical uppers are made up of a patchwork of pink, magenta, blue, and light green suede, while the scalloped leather eye stays mirror the zigzag stitching that joins the multi-colored upper panels. A unique patchwork tongue adds even more visual interest to the shoe.
The collection is dropping just in time for the Season 2 premiere of Squid Game, which will be available to stream on Netflix starting December 26.
