BEAMS and L.L. Bean Team Up to Reinvent the Classic Boat and Tote Bag
Move over, Trader Joe’s canvas tote, there’s a new must-have bag in town. Japanese fashion label BEAMS has joined forces with American outdoor brand L.L. Bean to revamp the iconic Boat and Tote bag, originally designed in 1944.
Known for its durability and timeless design, the L.L. Bean Boat and Tote has remained virtually unchanged for decades. But now, thanks to BEAMS, the bag has been given a modern twist. By combining elements of the archival L.L. Bean Zipper Duffle Bag with the classic Boat and Tote silhouette, BEAMS has created a new and improved version of the beloved bag.
The updated design features a double zip at the top for added security, while still maintaining the deep bottom and functional outside pockets of the original. And for even more versatility, the bags come with a removable crossbody strap in addition to the sturdy leather handles.
But that’s not all – the BEAMS x L.L. Bean collaboration offers two retro colorways to choose from. The first features a navy body with green tape, while the second boasts a brown body with green tape. And with sizes ranging from Mini to XL, there’s a perfect fit for everyone.
