Oversized: The Only Option for Sillage’s Nicolas Chalmeau
Nicolas Chalmeau, also known as Yuthanan, is breaking fashion norms with his label Sillage. Embracing exaggerated silhouettes, Sillage offers only one size, encouraging customers to step out of their comfort zone. Drawing inspiration from Chalmeau’s French and Thai heritage, as well as Japanese craftsmanship, Sillage’s winter 2024 collection is a must-see.
From sumptuous Harris Tweed outerwear to bespoke artisanal vests, Sillage’s offerings are a fusion of sartorial and cultural influences. The collection also includes a range of baggy trousers and their first-ever knitwear line. Notable pieces include a gilet made from deadstock houndstooth dating back to the 1980s-2000s, as well as a matching jacket and pants set.
For a more laid-back look, the “v neck wide three d knit” top, available in navy and yellow, is crafted in a renowned factory in Niigata. Chalmeau shared with Hypebeast Magazine, “I see so many brands copying each other. But if you don’t travel or research, you can’t make good clothes. Being curious is the most important asset in someone’s character.”
Completing the collection are accessories such as casquette flap caps, tabi socks, and padded mufflers. Shop Sillage’s winter 2024 collection online and embrace the oversized trend with a unique twist.
