Mr Bailey and adidas Team Up for New ARUKU YAGI Collaboration
Get ready sneakerheads, because Mr Bailey and adidas have just announced an exciting new collaboration that is sure to take the footwear world by storm. The highly anticipated ARUKU YAGI will be making its debut exclusively in Las Vegas in late October, and it’s already causing a buzz among fans and fashion enthusiasts alike.
The drop will feature the debut of the Cinder Grey colorway, with early access to the Obsidian Black colorway for attendees of ComplexCon. Earlier this year, Hypebeast gave us a sneak peek of the London-based creative’s partnership with adidas, teasing a new design of the Mr.Bailey Adidas ARUKU YAGI. While little was known about the release at the time, it has now been officially announced that the adidas Originals x MRBAILEY® ARUKU YAGI will be available for purchase globally in late November.
With Bailey’s background in product design, it’s no surprise that this collaboration has a strong focus on utility and ergonomics. The ARUKU YAGI combines adidas technology with unique inspirations from the natural world to create a forward-thinking product that is built for movement and adaptability.
The lugged outsole of the silhouette is inspired by the cloven hoof of a mountain goat, which effortlessly adapts to different terrains. This performance feature is elevated with a “Swirlfoam” midsole and toe and heel springs. But it’s not just about function – Bailey believes that footwear can also be emotional and culturally relevant. This is evident in the design, where technology seamlessly blends with a clean and modern aesthetic.
The silhouette features layers of semi-translucent, no-sew TPU mesh panels and double-layered mudguards, adding to its unique form. The sculptural rear plaques are also a standout design feature, which the brands compare to carbon spoilers on a race car.
