Vibram Launches “Repair If You Care” Initiative to Promote Sustainable Footwear Practices
When you think of Vibram, you think of tough, long-lasting shoes. But what happens when those shoes eventually wear out? The answer lies in the brand’s latest initiative, “Repair If You Care.”
Launched in 2021, this global project encourages consumers to repair, upcycle, or repurpose their Vibram shoes in order to extend their wearability. Not only does this promote sustainable practices, but it also raises awareness about the importance of footwear care.
Vibram has also collaborated with independent businesses to make the repair process easier for customers. Their Cobbler Locator map helps users find nearby cobblers who can repair their Vibram shoes. And now, the brand is expanding the project by inviting partner labels to join in on the cause.
One of these partners is motorsport brand Dainese, which will be promoting its in-house repair service for leather goods and sole restoration. Other outdoor labels like Dolomite, Nnormal, and Tecnica will also utilize Vibram technologies to offer resole services to their customers.
By widening the network, “Repair If You Care” hopes to reach not just athletes and professional tradesmen, but also casual sneaker lovers who wear Vibram shoes daily. To learn more about this initiative, visit the dedicated “Repair If You Care” webpage now.
