Song for the Mute x adidas: A Collaboration of Restrained Rebellion

Australian fashion label Song for the Mute has just announced its latest collaboration with sportswear giant adidas. The highly anticipated collection, titled SFTM x adidas Originals 006, features two reimagined footwear models, as well as apparel pieces and accessories.

Pre-Release on October 3, Global Launch on October 10

Fans of the brand can get their hands on the collection early, as it will be available for pre-release on October 3 exclusively at Song for the Mute’s flagship store and website. The global launch will follow on October 10, making it accessible to fans all over the world.

Restrained Rebellion: The Sixth Collaboration

This marks the sixth collaboration between Song for the Mute and adidas Originals, and it is a true testament to the brand’s signature style of restrained rebellion. The collection includes seven apparel pieces and two reimagined footwear silhouettes: the SFTM-006 Adizero PR and SFTM-007 Taekwondo Mei.

Accessories for the First Time

For the first time, the collaboration also includes accessories. The collection features a washed-cotton cap and a hybrid tote-shoulder bag, adding a touch of utility and functionality to the lineup.

Reimagined Footwear Silhouettes

The Taekwondo Mei maintains its martial-arts silhouette but adds a touch of rebellion with an elasticated, gathered collar, laced closure, and asymmetric, top-stitched toe panels in scuffed, antiqued suede. The Adizero PR, on the other hand, takes a break from its archival track design with an antiqued rubber midsole, mismatched laces, silver overlays, and protective metal studs. Its lightweight mesh and TPU upper come in off-tones of black, oxidized white, and a deep, oxblood-sport red hybrid.

Expansive Apparel Collection

The apparel collection is the most expansive yet, featuring a range of pieces such as velvet track jackets, oversized gabardine overshirts, washed-out tartan pleated trousers, and reworked track pants. The color palette includes warm neutrals, bleached mustard, tarnished red, and washed black, giving off a vintage and aged look.

Bridge Past and Future with Accessories

Completing the collection are the aged-look cap and structured tote-shoulder bag, which bridge the past and future with their utility and style.
