Marie Lueder Takes London Fashion Week by Storm with SS26 Runway Show
The anticipation for Marie Lueder’s highly-anticipated runway show was palpable on Day 3 of London Fashion Week. As a graduate of Central Saint Martins, Lueder is no stranger to the fashion world, typically showcasing her designs at Berlin Fashion Week and hosting presentations in London. However, for SS26, Lueder decided to go all out with a full-on catwalk show, and it did not disappoint.
The 180 Strand New Gen space was transformed into a fashion frenzy, with a walkway scattered with smashed red wine glasses leading to a long dining table draped in a white cloth. This table served as the runway, as models climbed on top and strutted its length. Surrounding them were a curated group of influencers, creating a dreamy dinner party atmosphere that perfectly complemented the collection.
In previous seasons, Lueder’s designs have been deeply rooted in lore, drawing inspiration from medieval silhouettes, folklore dress codes, and mythical references. This collection continued that narrative, with clear influences from Baz Luhrmann’s iconic film, Romeo & Juliet. The carnival energy of the film was evident in the details, such as the curled-toe goblin shoes and hooded capelets.
However, SS26 was not just about fantasy. Lueder also made a clear shift towards wearability, with pieces that could easily be incorporated into everyday street style. A long-sleeved black graphic tee with “unraveling” across the chest, paired with jeans and a buckle belt, made a strong case for grounded, street-ready styling. Another standout piece was a slogan tank reading “Beats Are Back,” styled in a similar way, sending a clear message that Lueder is tapping into the wearable streetwear trend.
Other notable pieces from the collection included deconstructed football-inspired two-piece looks, a swamp-green bomber jacket with an oversized collar, and double-layered dark denim jeans. Overall, the SS26 Lueder runway show was a stunning display of creativity, fantasy, and wearability.
