Tanner Fletcher Takes NYFW SS26 to New Heights with Theatrical Runway Show

Get ready for a fashion experience like no other. Tanner Fletcher, the dynamic duo of co-designers Tanner Richie and Fletcher Kasell, brought their latest collection to the runway in a show-stopping production at the historic Capitale building in New York City. Built in 1893, the ornate walls of the venue provided the perfect backdrop for the designers to break the fourth wall and make a dramatic entrance on stage before the models took over.

But this was no ordinary runway show. Tanner Fletcher took things to new heights by incorporating a theatrical element into their presentation. The set was designed to look like an in-progress move, complete with props from their matching Etsy line and hardhat-wearing Taskrabbit taskers. As the models strutted down the runway, they were accompanied by a branded moving truck and a mix of men’s and women’s looks that transformed traditional home fabrics into bold and dramatic silhouettes.

The collection, rooted in tailored early 20th-century styles, featured craft-forward ornamentation such as lace, ruffled trims, crochet, and plenty of bows. The first men’s look set the tone for the rest of the line, challenging fashion’s binaries with a ruched and ruffled tracksuit paired with black HOKA Bondi Mary Janes. This was just the beginning of the show’s boundary-pushing designs, which included sheer bonnets, long skirts, pantless looks, and pussy bow collars.

Speaking of HOKA Bondi Mary Janes, the footwear brand made its runway debut at the show with their new bow-decorated fusion silhouette, a follow-up to the popular HOKA Speed Loafer. The formal-fusion shoes were a perfect addition to the garments, which played with historical and gendered codes.

But it was the womenswear that stole the show. Dramatizations reached their climax with a peach satin nightgown and robe blown to gigantic proportions, trailing behind the model as she walked. And for the finale, a model wearing a voluminous turn-of-the-century evening dress dragged a matching floral curtain behind her, creating a stunning visual effect.

As the re-decorated set was finally complete, Tanner and Fletcher re-emerged with their immediate families, including mothers, fathers, and siblings, as well as extended family members in the audience. Taking their final bow surrounded by loved ones, the designers reminded us that it takes a village to pull off an NYC apartment move-in and an elaborate runway show, and to establish a strong presence in the epicenter of American fashion.

But the excitement doesn’t end there. The Tanner Fletch x Etsy Re-Decorating Home collection and curated shop is now available on Etsy, and the HOKA Bondi Mary Jane, which made its first-ever public appearance at the show, will be available on October 1 at HOKA.com and select retailers. Keep an eye out for pieces from Tanner Fletcher’s SS26 collection, which will be dropping on the brand’s official webstore as the season approaches.
