Zach Saraceno: The Skateboarding Prodigy
Skateboarding is a sport that requires skill, determination, and a certain level of fearlessness. But for 25-year-old Zach Saraceno, it seems to come naturally. With his effortless style and impressive tricks, he makes skating look easy. But don’t be fooled, the maneuvers he pulls off are some of the most difficult in the sport.
Raised in Encinitas, California, Saraceno has been skating since he was just 4 years old. His father, an avid snowboarder, introduced him to the sport and he quickly fell in love with it. By the time he entered high school, he was homeschooled so he could focus on competitions and perfecting his skills.
In 2020, Saraceno made a name for himself in the skateboarding world with his appearance in the skate film GODSPEED, produced by Mikey Alfred’s legendary Illegal Civ crew. He also joined Tyshawn Jones’ King Skateboards team, alongside other notable skaters like Na-Kel Smith and Caleb Barnett. And he currently rides for adidas Skateboarding’s global team.
His hard work and dedication paid off when he became the first skater to have his own exclusive colorway on the adidas Tyshawn II, Jones’ signature shoe. The shoe features a dual-layered toe area and multidirectional tread for maximum cushioning, and Saraceno’s version boasts a “Crystal White” leather with “Shadow Brown” suede Three Stripes and an aged off-white sole.
But for Saraceno, it’s not just about the shoes. He has been a sneaker enthusiast since he was a kid, and as a skater, he has tried and tested countless pairs to find the perfect fit for his sport. And with his natural talent and unwavering commitment to skateboarding, it’s no surprise that he has become a skateboarding prodigy.
From Basketball to Skateboarding
Saraceno’s love for sneakers started at a young age, thanks to his passion for basketball. But it wasn’t until he started skating that he truly became a sneaker connoisseur. With the constant wear and tear on his shoes from skating, he was forced to try out different brands and styles to find what worked best for him.
But it wasn’t just about the shoes for Saraceno. He has been skating since he was 4 years old, and it quickly became his main focus. His father, who was a snowboarder, introduced him to the sport and he hasn’t looked back since.
The Rise of a Skating Star
Saraceno’s talent and hard work have not gone unnoticed. In 2020, he made a name for himself in the skateboarding world with his appearance in the skate film GODSPEED, produced by Mikey Alfred’s legendary Illegal Civ crew. He also joined Tyshawn Jones’ King Skateboards team, alongside other notable skaters like Na-Kel Smith and Caleb Barnett. And he currently rides for adidas Skateboarding’s global team.
But perhaps his biggest achievement yet is becoming the first skater to have his own exclusive colorway on the adidas Tyshawn II, Jones’ signature shoe. The shoe features a dual-layered toe area and multidirectional tread for maximum cushioning, and Saraceno’s version boasts a “Crystal White” leather with “Shadow Brown” suede Three Stripes and an aged off-white sole.
For Saraceno, this is more than just a milestone. It’s a testament to his unwavering commitment to the sport and a reflection of his own quiet confidence.
The Role of Footwear in Skateboarding
As a skater, footwear plays a crucial role in Saraceno’s craft. With the constant impact and wear on his shoes, he needs a pair that can withstand the demands of the sport. That’s why he has been a sneaker enthusiast since he was a kid, always on the lookout for the perfect pair that can keep up with his skating.
And with his own exclusive colorway on the adidas Tyshawn II, Saraceno has found the perfect shoe to support him in his skating journey. But for him, it’s not just about the shoes. It’s about the passion and dedication he has for the sport that has brought him to where he is today.
