Acqua di Parma Launches New “Gelsomino a Freddo” Eau de Parfum with Cold Enfleurage Technique

Acqua di Parma has added a new addition to their Signatures of the Sun collection with the vibrant and bold “Gelsomino a Freddo” eau de parfum. Crafted using the ancient art of cold enfleurage, this fragrance balances luminous jasmine with smoky notes of black tea and wood.

Labor-Intensive Process Creates Richly Nuanced Jasmine Essence

The name “a Freddo” (meaning “cold” in Italian) reflects the labor-intensive process used to create this fragrance. Freshly harvested jasmine blossoms are gently pressed onto purified shea butter over 48-hour cycles, preserving every delicate olfactive molecule. This results in a richly nuanced jasmine essence that combines traditional heritage with modern craftsmanship.

A Dialogue Between Floral Brightness and Smouldering Undertones

The fragrance opens with a zesty blend of Italian lemon, pink pepper, and artemisia, before revealing a heart of pure jasmine enfleurage, smoky black tea, and orris concrete. The base notes of guaiac wood, cypriol, and patchouli essence add warmth and structure, creating a unique dialogue between luminous floral brightness and smouldering undertones.

Perfumer Daphne Bugey’s Double Challenge

Perfumer Daphne Bugey explains that creating this fragrance presented a double challenge. First, in balancing the contrasting elements and elevating the jasmine enfleurage extraction. And second, in finding the perfect balance between the floral and woody elements to create a truly gender-neutral scent.

New Packaging and Rituals to Complement the Eau de Parfum

The “Gelsomino a Freddo” eau de parfum is encased in Acqua di Parma’s redesigned transparent Signatures of the Sun bottle, featuring an enlarged hatbox and refreshed label. Along with the eau de parfum, new Signatures of the Sun rituals have been added, including Zafferano Hand and Body Wash, Body Cream, 200-gram candles, and a 180 ml diffuser. These additions will soon be available through Acqua di Parma.
