Kesha’s Passion for the Ocean Inspires Collaboration with Solgaard

Kesha is known for her bold expression and creative projects, but her true passion lies in the ocean. She even obtained an advanced diver’s certification due to her love for whales and sea conservation. This passion led her to team up with Adrian Solgaard, CEO and Creative Director of Solgaard, for a one-of-a-kind collaboration: the Joyride collection.

Solgaard is a trailblazer in ocean plastic and sustainable luxury accessory design, and was inspired to start his ocean impact work after a surfing trip to Bali. The company has already prevented over 3 million pounds of ocean plastic to date. The collaboration between Kesha and Solgaard came about in 2024, right after Kesha reclaimed her voice and artistic control.

Kesha shared, “My brother was in the Peace Corps in Honduras, and while I was visiting him, I got my dive certification. I started becoming obsessed; my dive obsession has taken me all over the world from South Africa to the Galapagos. From being an adamant shark diver, I have been outspoken on my desire to ban shark finning. I fell in love with marine life by seeing how interconnected nature and sea life are, and I became more conscious of protecting it and raising awareness for ocean conservation. And I’m a triple Pisces!”

Solgaard echoed Kesha’s sentiments, explaining why sustainability is at the core of his brand. “Using sustainable materials takes extra time and extra learnings. Oftentimes, it’s more expensive too – but that doesn’t mean it’s not the right thing to do. There’s something inherently luxurious about feeling good about the purchases that you make. Through our business model, with every item we sell, we clean up six pounds of plastic,” he said. “Owning high-quality, thoughtfully designed products, with environmentally regenerative impact built-in, is luxury.”

The Joyride collection combines premium design with innovative sustainable technology, and as Kesha is the muse for the range, it is infused with her unapologetic attitude and pop art references. The collection’s tagline, “Joyride,” is also the title of Kesha’s debut track from her recently released album, (pronounced Period).
