Hawaii is renowned for its cannabis culture, and Big Island Grown (BIG) is proud to be a part of it. However, our legacy of growing crops goes far beyond just marijuana. Our co-founder and CEO, Jaclyn Moore, explains, “BIG has a rich history rooted in agriculture. Our production center was once home to sugarcane, then became the largest banana farm in North America, and now houses our state-of-the-art cannabis facility. Our farming practices have evolved to be more conscious of the land and the community we serve, with the goal of creating a sustainable farming community for generations to come.”

BIG’s strong agricultural background has earned us a license as a manufacturer and dispensary on the Big Island of Hawaii, which is where our name comes from. As a vertically integrated company, our team of pharmacists, farmers, artists, caregivers, and coders (many of whom are also patients) have become experts in all aspects of our operations. We believe that our team’s passion for both the plant and our patients results in the highest-quality cannabis and customer service in Hawaii, and possibly beyond, at an affordable price.

“With the long history of cannabis cultivation on the island, our team works tirelessly to showcase the best of local genetics and elevate the breeders, artists, farmers, and local businesses that contribute to Big Island’s cannabis culture,” Moore says. BIG currently has three dispensaries located in Kona, Hilo, and Waimea. Our staff takes the time to get to know our patients by name, remember their product preferences, and inform them of new product drops based on their desired effects. Our regulars are vocal about quality, and our Patient Attendants (or budtenders) are dedicated to providing compassionate and patient-focused service. They also educate patients on new strains, formulations, and the team members behind the products they love.

Our dispensaries are matched by our impressive 35,000-square-foot indoor growing facility, which is environmentally controlled to produce high-quality indoor flower. While Hawaii is known for its exceptional outdoor cannabis, our indoor grow ensures safety from humidity, severe weather, and even the occasional volcanic eruption. Our team is committed to providing the best possible products and service to our patients, and we are proud to be a part of Hawaii’s thriving cannabis culture.
