Global Menswear Designers, Buyers, and Aficionados Gather for Pitti Uomo 108
The fashion world is buzzing as the 108th edition of Pitti Uomo approaches. From June 17 to 20, Florence’s Fortezza da Basso will be filled with the latest and greatest in men’s fashion, as over 730 brands showcase their Spring/Summer 2026 collections. This biannual event is a must-attend for international brands looking to debut their newest ideas, trend forecasts, and collaborative projects.
Runway Presentations and Special Events
In addition to the massive trade show, Pitti Uomo will also feature a series of runway presentations from top designers. This year’s lineup includes the guest of honor Homme Plissé Issey Miyake, guest designers PAF (Post Archive Faction) and Niccolò Pasqualetti, and the latest addition, Children of the Discordance.
Children of the Discordance Takes the Stage
Thanks to a collaboration with the Japan Fashion Week Organization, Pitti Uomo will host a “Special Event” from Children of the Discordance on June 17. Led by designer Hideaki Shikama, the brand will showcase its unique and culturally-inspired designs on the runway.
A Unique Perspective on Fashion
Shikama, who won the Tokyo Fashion Award eight years ago, is excited to return to Pitti Uomo and present his collection for the first time in five years. “My clothes are inspired by all the culture I experienced growing up in the Japanese port city of Yokohama,” he explains. “I try to incorporate the essence of the culture into each piece, making them truly unique.”
Forward-Thinking Design
Francesca Tacconi, special events coordinator at Pitti Immagine, is also looking forward to Children of the Discordance’s show. “We appreciate the independent thinking of its founder, Hideaki Shikama, and the calm confidence with which he blends archival references and the fast pace of street culture, all with a forward-looking design vision,” she says.
