AVAVAV and adidas Originals: The Ultimate Collaboration
Get ready, fashion lovers! AVAVAV and adidas Originals have joined forces once again for a second collaboration that is sure to turn heads. This highly anticipated line features a range of avant-garde hoodies, tops, vests, pants, and shorts that will be dropping on May 22.
Known for their playful and subversive designs, AVAVAV’s ongoing collaboration with adidas Originals is a match made in fashion heaven. The first collection was introduced for Fall/Winter 2025 and now, the second iteration is here to take the fashion world by storm.
The AVAVAV-ificiation of adidas Originals is all about experimentation, illusions, and pushing boundaries. From hooded tops that are perfect for a night out in Berlin to puffer vests that could double as armor, this collection is not for the faint of heart. The pants are ruched for added drama, while the shorts leave little to the imagination. And let’s not forget the New Moonrubber Megaride runners and warped Superstars that are fit for aliens.
But don’t be fooled by adidas Originals’ sportswear roots, this collaboration is not intended for the court. In fact, AVAVAV comically bills the collection as “High Fashion, Low Performance.” So if you’re confused by the tagline, just take a look at the accompanying campaign for some clarity.
Shot by Lennart Madou, the campaign features models striking serious America’s Next Top Model poses while attempting (and failing) to participate in sports. One model is seen sprawled on the floor trying to blow a golf ball into a hole en vogue, while another is captured in a fierce stance while being pelted with tennis balls. And in a series of short films, we see champion basketball player Kahleah Copper, skateboarder Marcos Montoya, and tennis star Maria Sakkari showing off their impressive athletic skills, while models try (and fail) to copy them.
Don’t miss out on this epic collaboration! The second adidas Originals by AVAVAV collection will be available on May 22 via CONFIRMED and in adidas stores. Check out the campaign above for a sneak peek at the lineup.
