Thom Browne’s Pre-Fall 2025 Collection: A Fusion of Traditional and Avant-Garde

After a stunning display at the Met Gala 2025, Thom Browne has unveiled its highly anticipated Pre-Fall 2025 collection. The designer continues to push the boundaries of sartorial codes, presenting a meticulously crafted offering that simultaneously embraces and subverts traditional menswear and womenswear archetypes.

Through the lens of Thom Browne, classic tailoring is dissected, reassembled, and imbued with the designer’s signature theatricality and meticulous construction. The result is a collection that showcases a strong emphasis on sculptural silhouettes, with exaggerated shoulders and bold proportions.

In an interview with Vogue, Browne described his Pre-Fall collection as “almost like a mini couture collection.” He emphasized the evolution of his business and the importance of staying true to what his audience has always appreciated about his designs.

The collection features a fusion of tailoring and sportswear, with mesh basketball jerseys bearing the number 65 to mark the designer’s birth year. Browne explains, “I really feel like the tailoring could be sportswear as much as the sportswear can be tailoring.”

Notable pieces include a suede denim jacket and a mohair tweed work shirt, showcasing Browne’s experimentation with softer materials. The full collection is a must-see for fashion enthusiasts, with skirts and dresses incorporating unexpected pleats, folds, and pannier-like details for a striking three-dimensional effect.
