Adidas Remixes the Superstar with a Roller Skate Twist
Since its debut in 1970, adidas has continuously reinvented the iconic Superstar silhouette in various ways. One of the latest takes on the classic shelltoe sneaker is the adidas Superstar 82 Skate, a roller skate version of the shoe. The revamped design was first previewed at the end of last year and now, in collaboration with The Whitaker Group, adidas is celebrating its launch with a special colorway and skating event for the local community.
Special Colorway and Design
The adidas Superstar 82 Skate features a high top leather upper, front brake, and branded wheels. The design flips the classic “Black/White” colorway, replacing the white stripes with a glow-in-the-dark green that matches the tongue branding. Additionally, a “Silver” edition with a metallic silver crackled leather base is also part of the lineup.
Launch Event and Availability
To celebrate the release of the adidas Superstar 82 Skate, The Whitaker Group and adidas are hosting a launch event at Cascade Atlanta Skate Rink on April 27. The event will include skate showcases, DJ sets, and other community programming. Those interested in attending can find more information on access to the event through The Whitaker Group’s social media channels. The “Black/White” and “Silver” colorways will also be available for pick-up at the event for those who complete an online purchase. The shoes will be available in half sizes only, with a starting price of $200 USD.
