KSUBI and Mowalola: A Collaboration at the Intersection of Culture and Style
Australian denim label KSUBI and Nigerian-born London-based designer Mowalola have joined forces to create a collection that embodies the rebellious spirit of youth culture. Both brands are known for their boundary-pushing designs and commitment to staying on top of the latest trends.
The debut collaboration between KSUBI and Mowalola draws inspiration from Y2K styles, resulting in a range of garments that cater to the Gen-Z audience. The campaign, shot by Jessica Mae Propper, features a star-studded lineup of up-and-coming rappers, including Suki Baby, Skaiwater, Strawberry, Chloe Spence, Izzy Spears, and Khadi.
The gritty visuals, set in Los Angeles, showcase the capsule’s subversive styles, including distressed denim, bespoke cheetah prints, and a striking Doberman motif. The collection also includes a contemporary take on Ksubi’s iconic ultra-low-rise jeans from the early 2000s.
According to KSUBI Creative Director Pip Edwards, Mowalola was the perfect collaborator for the brand. “As a brand that welcomes controversy with open arms, Mowa’s provocative approach to design and creativity was too tempting to ignore,” Edwards said in a statement. “When we started to bring our worlds and iconic styles together, it soon became clear we were on the cusp of something very exciting.”
The KSUBI x Mowalola collection is now available on both brands’ official websites and in KSUBI stores worldwide. Don’t miss your chance to snag a piece of this rebellious and nostalgic collaboration.
