Foot Locker: More Than Just Sneakers, A Community Champion

Known for its influence in sneaker culture, Foot Locker is also deeply rooted in the community. With a strong commitment to creating positive change on a local level, the brand is proud to support grassroots communities around the world.

After celebrating its 50th anniversary last year, Foot Locker’s latest Spring/Summer 2025 campaign showcases its years of community involvement. The campaign, titled “Summer Different,” highlights the brand’s dedication to empowering emerging creative collectives in four European cities.

These multi-disciplinary collectives have not only made a name for themselves in fashion, music, and sports, but they have also used their influence to promote positivity in their local areas. Among them are Lostboys, a dynamic creative and street sport collective from Nottingham, UK; Akwaaba World, a Milan-based radio station-turned-football team that celebrates diverse global sounds; Winner Circle from Spain, who engage their community through creativity; and Paris’ UNDERCOVER, a hub for the city’s youth.

In addition to these partnerships, Foot Locker is also teaming up with Akeem, Out of Bolo, HellHeaven11, Maison Binario, LA LIGUE, and 144, solidifying its commitment to community engagement.

“As a champion of sneaker culture, Foot Locker continues to play a significant role in the sneaker movement and shine a light on the communities that shape it,” says Slavka Jancikova, Vice President of Marketing for Foot Locker Europe. “Our ‘Summer Different’ campaign celebrates the unique stories of grassroots communities in beautifully diverse European neighborhoods. We are excited to connect with sneaker enthusiasts and support their style exploration in an authentic and unfiltered way.”

As we saw low-profile court-style sneakers take over in 2024, this summer is all about premium lifestyle running silhouettes. Foot Locker is showcasing four styles from its long-standing partners, including the sleek New Balance 1000 from 1999, ASICS’ archival GEL-KINETIC FLUENT, adidas’ bouncy sole Megaride, and Nike’s Y2K classic Shox model.

Each collective has also curated an exclusive map featuring hidden gems across Europe, from local hangouts to retailers. These maps are available at select Foot Locker stores.
