San Diego State University Takes Flight with Jordan Brand
In 2018, San Diego State University made a bold move by signing with Jordan Brand, joining the ranks of the elite men’s basketball teams in the Jordan lineup. And since then, the results have been nothing short of impressive. In 2023, the Aztecs made it all the way to the NCAA Tournament’s championship game, solidifying their place as a top contender in the world of college basketball.
This year, the Aztecs faced off against fellow Jordan Brand school, the University of North Carolina, in the First Four round. Although they ultimately fell to the Tar Heels, the team was still presented with a special gift from the Jumpman team – their very own Air Jordan 4 PE. This addition expands the “First Class” series that has been making waves in the sneaker world.
The English Sole team has put together a rare pair breakdown of the exclusive sneaker, highlighting its unique design and features. The Air Jordan 4 features various shades of gray, with a shimmering gold SDSU-branded hangtag and dubrae. The gilded hardware continues with the Jumpman branding on the tongue and heel, both featuring a crystal basketball in the hand of Jordan as he takes flight.
Unfortunately, this Air Jordan 4 “San Diego State University” colorway is not available to the public. According to English Sole, less than 50 pairs were produced and distributed exclusively to those affiliated with the school. But for those lucky enough to get their hands on a pair, it’s a true collector’s item.
