PLEASURES and Reebok Pay Tribute to Joy Division with New Collection

British footwear label Reebok has teamed up with streetwear brand PLEASURES to honor the influential work of UK-born post-punk band Joy Division. The collaboration features a special sneaker and apparel collection, showcasing the iconic artwork and track titles from the band’s 1979 album Unknown Pleasures.

Club C 85 Gets a Joy Division Makeover

The Club C 85 sneaker is the centerpiece of the collection, with a mix of black suede and woven textile uppers. The toe box is adorned with the famous pulsar waveform illustration from the album cover, while the typical Reebok logo is replaced with a discreet black-on-black Joy Division wordmark. The back heels feature embroidered pull tabs with the album title in white thread.

Nostalgia for Joy Division

In recent years, digital youth cultures on platforms like Tumblr have shown a strong nostalgia for the Joy Division era. This has led to a resurgence in interest for the band and their melancholic aesthetic, particularly for Unknown Pleasures merchandise. In 2019, PLEASURES and Warner Music UK celebrated the album’s 40th anniversary with a special capsule collection. The new collaboration with Reebok includes even more merch, with a focus on a physical education-style uniform set. The black and white tees feature faded graphics and the playful campaign showcases the collegiate graphic “PLEASURES JOY DIV.” with the Reebok emblem at the center. The backs of the shirts feature distressed lettering of song titles like “Transmission” and “Disorder.”

Get Your Hands on the Collection

The PLEASURES x Reebok Joy Division collection will be available on April 4th at the PLEASURES web store. Don’t miss your chance to pay tribute to this iconic band with this unique and stylish collection.
