New York’s One for One Venue Hosts Mother, Daughter, Holy Spirit Fundraiser for Trans Justice
On Saturday, the city that never sleeps was buzzing with excitement as the first part of a three-part fundraiser for the Trans Justice Funding Project took place at the new One for One venue. Organizers Bobbi Salvör Menuez and John Mollett put together an unforgettable event called Mother, Daughter, Holy Spirit (MDHS), featuring a fashion show that celebrated trans identities.
The runway was graced by a star-studded cast, including Alex Consani, Colin Jones, Richie Shazam, and more, all dressed in looks donated by some of the industry’s top voices and styled by Julie Ragolia. The curated looks came from renowned designers such as Conner Ives, Diotima, Gogo Graham, Loupreme, Magliano, Marni, Miss Claire Sullivan, Vaquera, Willy Chavarria, Willy Norris, Women’s History Museum, and Zoe Gustavia Anna Whalen.
But the generosity didn’t stop there. Celebrities like Chloë Sevigny, Hari Nef, Julia Fox, Lena Waithe, Pedro Pascal, Shazam, and Tommy Dorfman also donated pieces from their personal wardrobes for the show, making it a truly star-studded affair.
Among the standout looks was Connie Flemming in a custom Zegna suit previously worn by Pedro Pascal at the 2023 Oscars, and Shazam strutting in an Empire State Building dress from Women’s History Museum’s Fall 2024 show. Cynthia Nixon also made an appearance, walking the show in an electric pastoral set, while American singer-songwriter Zsela gave a stunning performance of “Goodbye Horses” in a custom Jean-Paul Gaultier outfit.
For those who couldn’t attend the event, fear not. Several pieces from the show will be available for purchase on the official Mother, Daughter, Holy Spirit website, through the Daughter boutique. Keep an eye out for multiple drops throughout the month of April. In the meantime, check out the gallery above for a glimpse of the curated looks on the runway.
