Burberry Takes Over the V&A Museum’s Fashion Gallery for a Multi-Year Partnership
The iconic British fashion brand Burberry is making a bold move by transforming the renowned Fashion Gallery at the Victoria and Albert Museum into the Burberry Gallery. This partnership with the prestigious London art and culture institution will bring together two centuries-old icons with a shared passion for heritage and innovation.
The current gallery space, which houses one of the largest and most comprehensive collections of dress in the world, will be closed this May for renovations. The transformation is expected to take two years, but when the Burberry Gallery reopens, it will continue to showcase five centuries of fashion and offer a range of programs both onsite and online to enrich fashion education.
According to Joshua Schulman, Burberry’s CEO, this partnership is a milestone moment for British arts and culture. He believes that the collaboration will not only celebrate the rich history of fashion but also inspire creative minds for generations to come. Burberry’s designs have been featured in several exhibitions at the V&A Museum, including Fashioned From Nature, Fashioning Masculinities: The Art of Menswear, and NAOMI: In Fashion.
But don’t worry, fashion lovers! While the Fashion Gallery is closed for renovations, the V&A’s fashion collection will still be accessible through the V&A East Storehouse, which opens on May 31. So mark your calendars and get ready to experience the ultimate fusion of fashion and culture when the Burberry Gallery opens its doors in spring 2027.
