C.P. Company and Sashiko Gals Team Up for Limited Edition Capsule Collection

Italian fashion brand C.P. Company has joined forces with Ootsuchi-based project Sashiko Gals to release a highly coveted 15-piece capsule collection. This marks the first collaboration between the two brands, and it’s sure to be a hit among fashion enthusiasts.

Preserving Tradition with Sashiko Gals

Sashiko Gals is a project that aims to preserve the traditional Japanese tailoring technique known as “sashiko.” This technique is primarily used for clothing repair and has been passed down through generations. The project was launched in 2024 as a way to raise funds for recovery and repairs following the Great East Japan Earthquake.

Handcrafted Artistry

The project currently employs 15 traditional artisans who handcraft bespoke pieces using the sashiko technique. Each piece is a work of art, showcasing the skill and dedication of these artisans.

Unique Alterations on Signature Jackets

For this collaboration, the artisans have individually altered C.P. Company jackets using the sashiko technique. The base jacket is made of the brand’s signature Chrome-R fabric and features a full zip. The artisans have added three hand-sewn pockets using upcycled materials, including “FLATT NYLON,” “CO-TED,” and “TAYLON P.”

Limited Edition and Exclusive

The 15 jackets in this collection are available in three colors: olive, black, and cobalt blue. Each piece retails for ¥115,000 JPY (approximately $764 USD). The collection will be available at a pop-up shop at Isetan Shinjuku Men’s Building on the sixth floor from April 5 to April 9. Unfortunately, these pieces will only be available in Japan for now.
