Celebrating 5 Generations and 100 Years of Fendi: A Look to the Future
Silvia Venturini Fendi, the creative director of Fendi, knows how to throw a party. And for the brand’s 100th anniversary, she did not disappoint. The Fall/Winter 2025 co-ed collection was a dazzling display of faux fur, leather, and appliqué, showcasing Fendi’s signature playfulness and attention to detail.
But for Venturini Fendi, this milestone is not just about looking back at the past. “I didn’t want to spend too much time dwelling on the physical archives,” she said. “For me, Fendi 100 is more about my personal memories – real or imagined – of what Fendi was and what Fendi means today.”
And with this mindset, Fendi has set the stage for future generations to come. The show opened with a classic yet elegant silhouette, a faux “mink” coat worn as a dress paired with contrasting satin peep-toe heels. But it was the details that truly stole the show, like a coated chevron dress perfectly aligned with a matching bag at its side.
Throughout the collection, traditional Italian suiting was given a subversive twist with partially detached asymmetric tuxedo lapels and floor-length fur stoles. And in true Fendi fashion, the iconic baguette received a fuzzy remix, while the Peekaboo and Spy Bag were reissued, solidifying their place in the brand’s timeless lexicon.
But it wasn’t just the clothes that made a statement. The show was graced with a star-studded lineup, including Karen Elson, Irina Shayk, and Gabbriette walking the runway, and A-listers like Matt Bomer and Sarah Jessica Parker sitting front row. And to top it all off, Sean Paul surprised guests with a performance at the afterparty.
Fendi’s Fall/Winter 2025 collection is a celebration of the brand’s past, present, and future. And with its playful yet sophisticated designs, it’s clear that Fendi will continue to be a fashion powerhouse for generations to come.
