Update: Nike SB x Air Jordan 4 “Pine Green” Gets Two New Successors
The highly anticipated follow-ups to the 2023 hit collaboration between Nike SB and Air Jordan 4 “Pine Green” have been the subject of rumors for years. But now, we finally have confirmation that one of the rumored pairs, the “Navy” colorway, will be released to the public. In a surprise drop at NBA All-Star Weekend, the “Navy” pair was made available for purchase. However, the “Varsity Red” pair will be strictly limited to friends and family. Professional skateboarder Eric Koston confirmed this detail on his Instagram, where he also revealed the design of the “Varsity Red” pair. Similar to the “Navy” pair, this SB version of the AJ4 features a slight tweak to the “Pine Green” colorway, replacing the signature green with red. The Nike SB branding is once again visible on the heel, but due to its extremely limited distribution, this “Varsity Red” version will be difficult for collectors to get their hands on. In 2023, Nike SB and Jordan Brand joined forces to release a highly successful “collaborative” Air Jordan 4. This unique version of Michael Jordan’s fourth signature sneaker featured enhanced padding, increased grip, and rubber accents, making it perfect for skateboarding. Since then, there have been rumors of new colorways in the works, and the latest one to spark excitement is the “Varsity Red” Nike SB x Air Jordan 4. It is speculated to hit shelves in spring 2025.
At the moment, there are no images of the “Varsity Red” pair available, but a mock-up from zsneakerheadz and Sneaker Files gives us an idea of what to expect. If it follows a similar color scheme as its predecessor, it will feature a white leather and grey suede base, with red accents on the heel tabs, midsoles, and eyestays. The Nike SB branding will also replace the standard Nike Air logo on the heel tab. It’s worth noting that Nike has been increasing its “cross-brand” collaborations for SB, including the leaked Nike SB Air Force 1 Low.
