Palace Takes Over Seoul: Second Flagship Store Set to Open in Mapo-gu
Just one year ago, the UK streetwear giant Palace made its mark in Seoul’s Apgujeoung ward, a renowned hub for streetwear and one of the most affluent neighborhoods in the city. And now, the brand is ready to conquer another shopping destination in the South Korean capital’s lively Mapo-gu area, known for its youthful energy and prestigious universities.
The highly-anticipated new space, designed in collaboration with Steve Oh of OSTVO, is set to open its doors on February 8. Oh, who previously led design for a research team at Google ATAP, brings his expertise to the table to create a unique and innovative shopping experience for Palace’s fans.
Inspired by London’s iconic Southbank, the birthplace of Palace and a popular skate spot, the store’s interior boasts brutalist decals, floor-to-ceiling windows, concrete pillars, and sprawling screen walls. According to Palace’s design team, the pillars are a nod to the brand’s roots and were meticulously crafted to mimic the wood-like texture of the concrete. The overall concept aims to create a welcoming atmosphere for customers, inviting them to explore and appreciate the finer details of the space.
Get ready to be blown away by Palace’s new Seoul store, located at 30, Hongik-ro 5-gil, Mapo-gu. With its sleek and modern design, it’s sure to become a must-visit destination for streetwear enthusiasts. Don’t miss out on the grand opening on February 8 and be one of the first to experience Palace’s latest shopping destination. See you there!
