GmbH’s Fall 2025 Collection: A Manifesto for Fashion in Serious Times

German fashion label GmbH is known for its edgy and bold designs, but at this year’s Berlin Fashion Week, the brand took a more serious approach. In their show notes, founders and fashioners Benjamin A. Huseby and Serhat Işik addressed the current state of the world and the role of fashion in such trying times.

The collection, inspired by Norwegian poet Gunvor Hofmo’s “From Another Reality,” was divided into two parts, representing the idea of parallel worlds. As Işik explained backstage, “We see the same things, but we do not perceive them the same.” The first half of the line featured dark and regal pieces, such as black fur coats, leather jackets, and hooded blazers. The second half was more vibrant, with knit tops bearing the message “Refuse To Trade With the Enemy” and eye-catching overcoats in bold red.

Throughout the collection, models carried prayer bracelets, a nod to the designers’ fathers who still carry them today. While mourning may be a part of the duo’s response to the current state of the world, their fashion also exudes grace and poise in the face of adversity.
