Saint Laurent’s Menswear: A Masterclass in Class

The storied French fashion house, Saint Laurent, has once again proven its mastery in menswear. Led by creative director Anthony Vaccarello, the brand staged the real finale to Paris Fashion Week Men’s with a show at the Bourse de Commerce. And let us tell you, it was worth the wait.

The Fall 2025 collection was all about opposite attraction, with minimalist walls and aged parquet floors setting the stage for a stunning display of contrasts. On the runway, Vaccarello explored the duality of his muse, who he describes as “an aesthete hungry for new experiences and a steady literary mastermind.” Drawing inspiration from Yves Saint Laurent’s classic Haute Couture and Rive Gauche collections, as well as the creative mind of Robert Mapplethorpe, the collection was a perfect blend of timeless elegance and edgy modernity.

The silhouettes were informed by a “menacing, seductive elegance” that was both a nod to Mapplethorpe’s controversial art and a result of archival research. The result? A wardrobe that exudes coolness, with sharp suiting, sleek leather formals, and tough knee-high boots. And let’s not forget the anonymous black shades that added a touch of mystery to the looks.

It’s no surprise that Vaccarello’s collection had a filmic degree of perfection. The designer, known for his love of cinema, drew inspiration from directors like Rainer Fassbinder, Paolo Sorrentino, and Jacques Audiard. In fact, Saint Laurent co-produced Audiard’s film Emilia Pérez, which has received a record-breaking 13 nominations at the upcoming Academy Awards. Vaccarello’s 2025 highlight reel is already off to a superb start.

But don’t just take our word for it. See the stunning Fall/Winter 2025 collection for yourself in the gallery above. Trust us, you won’t be disappointed.
