Charles Jeffrey LOVERBOY Hosts Debaucherous “Fight Night” at Dover Street Market Paris
London’s Imperiled Nightlife Scene Takes Center Stage in One-Night-Only Exhibition
At Dover Street Market in Paris, the lights were dim and the energy was high as Charles Jeffrey LOVERBOY hosted a wild “Fight Night” event. The one-night-only exhibition showcased the imperiled, bombastic nightlife scene of London, featuring a performance by BULLYACHE and Dinah Lux on the piano. But this was no ordinary fashion show – it was a fierce and daring display of resistance, celebrating queer artistry and bravery in the face of hostility towards gay, trans, and immigrant identities around the world.
In the retailer’s basement studio, models entered a real-life boxing ring, performing tense choreography and violent fight sequences to introduce LOVERBOY’s Fall 2025 collection, “I Am a Product.” The two-hour spectacle was more than just a ploy to feed algorithms – it was a powerful expression of defiance and personal expression.
“For the first time in my career, I designed a collection without relying on research,” Jeffrey shared. “This season came straight from my sketches, my heart, and my soul.”
As the glass-skinned models intimidated, caressed, and attacked each other in the ring, it was clear that the show’s message was not only political, but deeply personal. “It’s a fascinating time to be a designer,” Jeffrey continued. “The industry often treats creatives like chess pieces, moved and discarded at will. This grotesque dynamic made me reflect on the idea of being a ‘product’ – a disposable commodity – rather than someone whose story and artistry are nurtured. It’s a stark reminder of how fleeting fashion can be, yet also how storytelling remains its foundation.”
The collection, titled “I Am a Product,” featured LOVERBOY’s signature kaleidoscopic knitwear, striped satin blazers, new contorted jerseys, staple graphic tops, big droopy trousers, animalistic headwear, and banana-shaped shoes and accessories. But the standout pieces were the collaboration with Pornhub, featuring skin-tight sheer tops, sensual graphic tanks, and knit lingerie. According to Jeffrey, the collection was a balancing act of using art to tell challenging stories while also making the pieces accessible and wearable.
