Kim Jones to Receive French Legion of Honor Award for Dior Men’s Winter 2025 Show
Renowned fashion designer Kim Jones is set to receive the prestigious French Legion of Honor award on Friday, January 24. The ceremony will take place after his highly anticipated Dior Men’s Winter 2025 show in Paris, according to WWD.
Celebrating Talent, Passion, and Commitment
In a statement, Dior expressed their excitement for Jones’ recognition, stating that the award honors his talent, passion, and commitment as the artistic director of Dior men’s lines.
A Shocking and Emotional Moment
When asked about his reaction to the news, Jones told WWD, “I was shocked, actually. When I got the letter, I cried.” He went on to say, “It’s very nice, because it’s celebrating your work and achievements. It’s something you never even think you’ll get. I don’t think many foreign people get them and I think it’s a real compliment.”
Anna Wintour to Present the Award
The award will be presented to Jones by none other than Condé Nast’s Anna Wintour. Jones expressed his gratitude for Wintour’s support, saying, “She was very sweet. She completely changed her schedule to come and do it. Anna’s a tour de force of getting things done and supporting people and so it’s really wonderful to get it from her. She’s been very, very supportive of me and I think she’s an amazing woman.”
A Fulfilling Recognition
Jones admitted to being “a bit lost for words” as he prepared his speech for the ceremony. He also shared that it was incredibly fulfilling to be recognized by France for his work at LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton. Prior to his current roles at Fendi womenswear and Dior Homme, Jones served as artistic director of Louis Vuitton Men’s for seven years.
