LỰU ĐẠN Celebrates Lunar New Year with Bold and Authentic Capsule Collection
As the Lunar New Year approaches, many brands from both East and West have released their own Year of the Snake capsules. However, LỰU ĐẠN is taking a unique approach with their celebratory collection.
In response to the widespread appropriation of this cultural holiday, founder Hung La is reclaiming the festivity by incorporating authentic mythology of the zodiac animal. The Yanwei, a mythological Chinese snake, already holds a special place in LỰU ĐẠN’s brand identity, which draws inspiration from the founder’s Vietnamese heritage.
The 10-piece capsule is led by a faux Python 3-piece set, featuring a jacket, vest, and flared trousers. A matching belt with an oversized silver snake buckle and a python-printed button-up complete the bold head-to-toe look. Other standout pieces include a red-and-black cobra image on straight-leg jeans and a colorized version on a sleeveless tee with a graphic on the back.
The collection also includes retro movie poster-inspired graphic tees, with one featuring the phrase “Silent Threat” and a double-headed Yanwei snake creeping from behind. These cross-cultural graphics are also seen on an oversized hoodie, accompanied by Chinese text and zodiac years in various placements.
