Get Ready for the Ultimate Fashion Event: New York Fashion Week 2025
It’s that time of year again, fashionistas! The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) has just released the preliminary calendar for February’s New York Fashion Week, and it’s looking like a jam-packed week of style and glamour. With over 54 runway shows and designer presentations, this is an event you won’t want to miss.
Returning Brands and Exciting Newcomers
The event, which will take place from Thursday, February 6 to Tuesday, February 11, will see the return of some beloved brands to the New York fashion scene. Get ready to see stunning collections from the likes of 5000, Anna Sui, Campillo, Carolina Herrera, Christian Siriano, Coach, Colleen Allen, Collina Strada, Diotima, Eckhaus Latta, Elena Velez, Kallmeyer, Khaite, Lafayette 148, LaQuan Smith, Luar, Michael Kors, Monse, Prabal Gurung, Sandy Liang, Sergio Hudson, Simkhai, Todd Snyder, Tory Burch, TWP, Ulla Johnson, and Zankov.
But that’s not all, there are also some exciting newcomers to the NYFW scene. Keep an eye out for shows from Alexis Bittar, Gabe Gordon, LEBLANCSTUDIOS by Yamil Arbaje and Angelo Beato, and Zoe Gustavia Anna Whalen. And don’t forget to tune in to the livestream of Bode’s 2025 BODE REC collection at the GQ Bowl, a red-carpet event happening during Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans.
Opening and Closing Shows
The week will kick off with an afternoon show from Brandon Maxwell on February 6, and will end with a bang with Thom Browne’s final runway show on the evening of February 11. And that’s not all, we’ll also get to see collections from Christopher John Rogers, Altuzarra, Calvin Klein Collection by Veronic Leoni, Fforme, Lapointe, Norma Kamali, and Theory, who are all returning to the NYFW calendar after skipping out on previous seasons.
Notable Absences
While we’re excited for all the amazing shows and presentations, there are a few notable absences from the calendar. Proenza Schouler, Helmut Lang, Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, Jason Wu, Wiederhoeft, and Willy Chavarria will not be showing this season. However, Chavarria will be presenting his Fall/Winter 2025 collection during Paris Fashion Week Men’s later this month.
CFDA’s Statement
Joseph Maglieri, CFDA’s Director of Fashion Week Initiatives, shared his thoughts on the upcoming season, saying, “NYFW serves as the premier opportunity for designers and brands to tell their story and share their work in the ways that speak to their communities and business needs. This upcoming season represents themes we see across the industry: calibration and innovation. It reminds us of the importance of brand sovereignty and stamina, and the significance of remaining authentic to where they are now in order to plan for where they want to be in the future.”
