Honda Introduces New “Racing Black Package” for Civic Type R at Tokyo Auto Salon 2025

Honda has always been known for pushing the boundaries when it comes to their vehicles, and their latest update to the Civic Type R lineup is no exception. Unveiled at the Tokyo Auto Salon 2025, the new “Racing Black Package” adds a touch of sophistication to the iconic model.

Gone are the signature red seats that have been synonymous with the Civic Type R since its inception. In their place, sleek black seats dressed in Lux/ultra suede take center stage. But the black interior isn’t just a style choice – it also serves a practical purpose. By minimizing interior light reflection, it creates a focused cockpit environment that enhances the driving experience.

The black ultrasuede upholstery extends across the dashboard and door linings, while subtle silver and black pinstripe accents add a touch of elegance to the air conditioning controls and power window switch panels. And that’s not all – the Racing Black Package also includes wireless charging, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and special color stitching on key interior elements.

The package will be available as an optional upgrade in the Japanese market starting January 23, with a price tag of ¥5,998,300 JPY (approximately $40,000 USD). Check out the video by Honda below to see more of the sleek and sophisticated Racing Black Package Civic Type R.
