The Lunar New Year is just around the corner, and fashion brands are wasting no time in preparing for the annual celebration. On January 29, the Year of the Snake will officially begin according to the Lunar calendar, and brands like BAPE, RAINS, Stone Island, and Diesel have already released capsule collections inspired by the serpent. Now, Levi’s has joined the party with a line of festive denim pieces.
The collection combines classic Americana style with lucky symbolism for the Year of the Snake. The men’s and women’s silhouettes feature 24K gold-plated buckles and woven rope designs, representing the “liveliness and agility” of the snake. Men can choose from the Levi’s 502 tapered jeans or the Levi’s 541 loose tapered jeans, while women have the option of the Levi’s Ribcage high-waisted straight-leg jeans.
But the collection doesn’t stop at just bottoms. It also includes denim jackets and hooded sweatshirts with woven snake elements, as well as flight jackets and knitted pieces like high-slit dresses and reverse collar sweaters. All of these items are meant to bring good fortune in the upcoming year.
