BEAMS and km5 Team Up for Futuristic Clear CD Player
Japanese audio brand km5 has joined forces with BEAMS to release a new, clear version of their popular Instant Disk CP1 CD player. This collaboration follows the success of km5’s black and white models, but takes inspiration from the transparent tech trends of the 1990s with its strong polycarbonate makeup. The clear edition allows users to see the inner hardware of the device, giving it a unique futuristic feel.
The Instant Disk CP1 is not just a visually appealing piece, it also boasts impressive features such as Bluetooth 5.1 and up to 7-8 hours of rechargeable power. It can also be easily connected to an existing sound system through the 3.5mm Stereo Earphone Jack. And for those looking to add a touch of style to their home, the device can be transformed into a decorative piece with the addition of a lyric sheet using the wall hanging bracket or stand (sold separately).
The clear Instant Disk CP1 player is part of the recent revival of clear gadgets, which has been fueled by the Y2k trend taking over fashion and now making its way into the tech world. The design is reminiscent of the clear tech previously offered by popular Japanese gaming companies like Sony, Nintendo, and Tamagotchi. And with the resurgence of CD sales, following the rise in vinyl sales in the late 2010s, this clear CD player is sure to be a hit.
The BEAMS x km5 clear Instant Disk CP1 player is now available for pre-order at BEAMS and is estimated to be delivered by mid-January 2025. Don’t miss out on this futuristic and stylish addition to your audio collection.
