Engineered Garments Takes Inspiration from the Lost Generation for Spring/Summer 2024 Collection
To close out 2024, Engineered Garments is taking a trip back in time. The fashion label, led by designer Daiki Suzuki, is channeling the spirit and style of the Lost Generation of the 1920s for its latest collection. Aptly named “Evoking the Spirit of the Lost Generation,” the line draws influence from iconic figures of the era, particularly the legendary writer Ernest Hemingway. Through the lens of Engineered Garments’ design, Hemingway’s signature style is reimagined and brought to life in a modern way.
In a statement announcing the release, Engineered Garments explains, “[Hemingway’s] lifestyle and vision share many elements with the concepts behind our clothing. From the African savannas and plains, Atlantic expanse of Key West to the social circles of Paris. His unique style pervades every scenario and forms the foundation of the clothing we love.” With this collection, the brand pays homage to Hemingway’s adventurous spirit and his love for travel and exploration.
For the Spring/Summer 2024 season, Engineered Garments combines Hemingway’s distinctive lifestyle with their own brand ethos – a blend of old-school hunting, fishing, and classic American leisure styles – to create a new concept: the city safari. This idea is at the heart of the collection, which features a range of tailored jackets, printed outerwear, and functional garments with deep pockets and adjustable closures. The leading motif of the collection is a gecko, inspired by Hemingway’s love for animals, particularly marlin and cats.
