Takashi Murakami Expands Ohana Hatake Lineup with New Colorways
Following the successful debut of his first-of-its-kind footwear brand, Takashi Murakami is taking the fashion world by storm once again. The renowned artist and designer is expanding his Ohana Hatake lineup with the release of two new colorways for the Ohana Full-Bloom silhouette: “Meteorite” and “Star White.”
The brand’s name, which translates to “field of flowers,” is a nod to a poignant moment in the manga series Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End. Murakami was deeply moved by a scene featuring a spell that creates a field of flowers, a metaphor that resonates with his long-standing artistic exploration of floral motifs.
While the brand’s previous releases have featured vibrant color palettes, these new colorways offer a more minimalist approach with a sleek black-and-white aesthetic. However, they still celebrate Murakami’s iconic flower motif, staying true to the brand’s design language.
In addition to the new colorways, Ohana Hatake is also teasing the launch of a new model: the Surippa Ohana. This design takes a different direction, drawing inspiration from traditional Japanese house slippers. The rubber tread of the Surippa Ohana features intricately carved artwork by Murakami, showcasing the brand’s commitment to blending cultural heritage with contemporary design.
The two new colorways are priced at $120 USD and are now available on Ohana Hatake’s webstore. For more updates, be sure to follow the brand’s official Instagram page.
