Diesel’s Pre-Fall 2025 Collection: A Denim Dream Come True
At its core, Diesel is denim. The Italian alternative jeans brand, founded by Renzo Rosso in 1978, has always been about subverting, transforming, deconstructing, and reimagining the quintessential textile. And now, creative director Glenn Martens is taking that legacy to new heights with a Pre-Fall 2025 collection that is entirely dedicated to denim.
Martens, known for his edgy and innovative designs, has created a collection that honors Diesel’s roots while pushing the boundaries of what denim can be. From tailored jackets and pants to knit tops and minidresses, every piece in the collection is either made of denim or treated to look like it is.
“This is a collection about everything in denim,” Martens said in a statement. “The archetypes of denim should be more than just five-pocket jeans: we wanted to push the boundaries and possibilities of our hero fabric.”
The collection introduces a new “fluid denim” fabric, which is used to create spacious tailored jackets and pants that are overdyed for a unique, textured look. This lightweight fabric is also used to make oversized shirts that can be styled in various ways. Psychedelic artwork adds to the illusion of denim on knit tops, minidresses, scarf skirts, tracksuits, hoodies, T-shirts, and tanks.
But it’s not just about the look of denim. The collection also features classic denim pieces like halterneck jumpsuits, panta-skirts, and biker shorts, all made with the real deal fabric. And for a touch of creativity, distressed padded jackets are woven with a jacquard pattern that mimics torn denim, similar to what was seen on Diesel’s Spring 2025 runway in Milan.
Even footwear is not left out of this denim extravaganza. Booties, loafers, sock-boots, and sandals are all covered in the brand’s favorite fabric, proving that Diesel truly is denim and denim is Diesel.
