Expert Custom Porsche Interior Maker and Sneaker Designer Team Up for New Balance 2002r Release

Justin Placek, known for his expert custom Porsche interiors, has joined forces with sneaker designer Kid River to release a pair of Porsche-inspired New Balance 2002r sneakers. This highly anticipated release follows Placek’s successful collaboration with Daniel Arsham and the limited edition 911 Dakar drop. River, who is known for his automotive-inspired custom sneakers, has previously created designs for brands like Porsche and Rolls-Royce, often incorporating classic patterns like houndstooth, plaid, and stripes.

The latest bespoke pair from River was specifically designed to match the interior of one of Placek’s clients and even comes with a matching bag from River’s own brand, HANTRITT. Placek proudly states that the pair is already being used by his client while driving in Italy. The shoe itself features a deconstructed off-white leather base, accented with dark green leather and a touch of black. The standout element of the shoe is the Porsche Pepita Houndstooth pattern in black and green, set against a white base.

Based on the announcement by Placek and River, it seems that this will be just the first of many collaborations between the two. For those interested in getting their own pair, they can contact the designers directly for more information. Don’t miss out on this unique and stylish fusion of automotive and sneaker design!
