LVMH Invests in Swedish Fashion Label Our Legacy

The fashion world is buzzing with the news that LVMH, the multinational holding company, has acquired a minority stake in Our Legacy, the popular Swedish fashion label. Known for their unique take on classic menswear, the brand has caught the attention of LVMH’s venture arm, which specializes in funding smaller luxury brands.

Led by co-founders Jockum Hallin, Cristopher Nying, and Richardson Klarén, Our Legacy has quickly become a sought-after label in the menswear market. This investment from LVMH follows their previous backing of another popular menswear brand, Aimé Leon Dore, in 2022.

With LVMH’s support, Our Legacy is poised for even more growth. In the last fiscal year, the brand reported a massive increase in sales, reaching €40 million EUR ($43.6 million USD). And with this new investment, the label plans to expand even further.

According to Hallin, the investment is not just about the financial boost, but also about building for the future. “It’s more to look to the future as we build the next era,” he told Business of Fashion.

Julie Bercovy, chief executive of LVMH Luxury Ventures, also expressed her excitement about the partnership, stating, “Our Legacy is the epitome of the ‘quiet cool’ movement, featuring a unique blend of contemporary minimalism and creative subversion. I am resolutely convinced by its ability to push the boundaries of men’s fashion beyond its community of fans, while remaining true to its roots and identity.”

Currently, Our Legacy has stores in South Korea, Stockholm, London, and Berlin, and is stocked in approximately 250 luxury retailers. With the investment from LVMH, the brand plans to strengthen its direct-to-consumer channel by opening new stores in major cities like Paris, New York, Los Angeles, Shanghai, Tokyo, and Hong Kong. They also have their sights set on opening a flagship store in Paris next year.

Despite the investment, Hallin assures fans that the brand will stay true to its roots and identity. “ [LVMH Luxury Ventures] don’t want us to change anything. Some of our best sellers today are products we introduced five or six years ago,” he said. Instead, the investment will help fund special projects, storytelling efforts, and attract top talent to the brand.
