Dior and KAWS Reunite for a Vibrant Menswear Collection
When Kim Jones took over as Dior’s menswear designer in 2018, he made a bold statement with his first runway show featuring a massive 33-foot sculpture made of flowers by KAWS. The collaboration continued with a co-branded capsule collection later that year, and now, six years later, the duo is back with a new menswear collection featuring kaleidoscopic snake illustrations.
In a statement to WWD, Jones expressed his admiration for KAWS as both a person and an artist, and his excitement to bring back a KAWS element to the Dior brand. The new collection includes pastel pink varsity jackets, quilted coats, cardigans, button-up shirts, and track pants adorned with the iconic Dior logo reimagined as slithering snakes. The snake motif also appears on accessories and as a playful take on the Dior “CD” logo.
According to Jones, the collaboration is meant to be fun and pop, drawing inspiration from the world of Pop Art. The collection will be available in Dior stores starting January 2, with prices ranging from €270 EUR to €8,800 EUR. Check out the gallery above for a sneak peek at the vibrant designs.
