Abc. x Diemme: The Ultimate Hiking Boot Collaboration
After dropping a killer earthy renovation of Merrell’s Hydro Moc this summer, LA-based label Advisory Board Crystals (Abc.) is back with their latest footwear offering: an opal gemstone-filled hiking boot made in collaboration with Italian footwear purveyor Diemme.
The head-turning model features a fuzzy suede upper, adorned with kaleidoscopic cut-outs for opal-inspired holographic jelly overlays. These colorful details are meant to mimic actual opals embedded in the Earth, and they really pop against the pebbled leather cuffs, shiny silver metal eyelets, and durable nylon laces. But the real showstopper is the cracked jelly opal footbed, which adds a unique touch to the design. And of course, no Abc. collaboration would be complete without their signature pull tabs.
“We wanted to put our own spin on an iconic Diemme silhouette,” explained Abc. designers Remington Guest and Heather Haber. “The color palette not only feels earthy, like the kind of material you would dig opals from, but it also has a familiar feel. It’s similar to the classic Timberland color palette, so it creates an immediate sense of familiarity.”
