Dillane arrives at Bar Madonna in Williamsburg, sporting a green football jersey from his dream collaboration with childhood hero Ronaldinho. He’s been busy closing down a pop-up at his brand’s headquarters, launching a record label, and planning his annual birthday bash for 2,000+ people. This kind of high-octane chaos is just a typical day for Dillane, but today is no ordinary day – it’s his birthday and he’s ready to celebrate.
Sitting in the corner booth of the intimate eatery, Dillane can’t contain his excitement for the upcoming festivities. Every year, he throws a costume-mandatory Brooklyn rager that doubles as a Halloween party, complete with top DJ lineups and special performances. This year, he’s planning another big warehouse party with headlining acts like Paul Wall and a Panic! At The Disco cover band. “No one knows what Panic! At The Disco looks like, so everyone will think it’s the real thing,” Dillane laughs. As for his own costume, he’s keeping it a secret for now, but past years have seen him dressed as Paris Hilton and Cassie from Euphoria.
According to the stars, Dillane is a Scorpio – known for their passion, magnetism, and determination. However, the designer himself is skeptical about astrology’s credibility. “I have the same birthday as Drake, so does that mean we feel the same way?” he questions. But when presented with his birthday horoscope, which predicts a year of creativity and intuition, Dillane can’t help but feel a sense of validation. “This is how I feel, but now I’m even more like, ‘I need to listen to myself,'” he responds. “In the fast-paced fashion world, you have to be creative and innovative quickly. You can’t be too picky or too much of a perfectionist.”
