YEONJUN Rocks Red Hair at Moncler’s Shanghai City of Genius

On Saturday night, the Moncler Shanghai City of Genius was buzzing with excitement as South Korean singer YEONJUN made an appearance with his fiery red hair. The event, which was divided into 10 “neighborhoods” designed by fashion icons such as Edward Enniful, Hiroshi Fujiwara, and A$AP Rocky, drew in a crowd of 8,000 guests who were ready to scream their hearts out.

Anne Hathaway and Jada Pinkett Smith Cause Chaos at Moncler’s City of Genius

In one of the neighborhoods designed by Rick Owens, actress Anne Hathaway’s regal wave from atop a futuristic shelter installation caused a frenzy among the crowd. Jada Pinkett Smith’s visit to her daughter’s district also drew in hoards of screaming fans, as did Naomi Campbell’s stopover in her friend Edward Enniful’s land. And when A$AP Rocky and Rihanna made their grand entrance, all hell (or heaven?) broke loose.

Fashion and Fandom Collide at Moncler’s City of Genius

The 30,000-square-meter CSSC Pavilion was transformed into a chaotic yet blissful land where fashion and fandom collided. In Enniful’s collaboration with Moncler, the former British Vogue Editor-in-Chief tested the elements with his dramatic, layered, and textural black coats, dressing nomadic sand dune explorers and frozen iceberg dwellers. The spectacle was fashionably dystopian, with models even thawing iced-over copies of Vogue with their hands.

Hiroshi Fujiwara’s Reflective Art Installation Steals the Show

In another neighborhood, designer Hiroshi Fujiwara hung his designs over a still pool of thick black liquid, creating a reflective work of art titled “Looking Glass, 2024.” His take on the Moncler puffer included light and packable versions with cute kitten designs, reversible colorways, and quotes from philosophers Nietszche and Aristotle. The mirrored surface was created in collaboration with British sculptor Richard Wilson RA.

Donald Glover Brings His Gilga Farm to Moncler’s City of Genius

In a brighter zone, musician and actor Donald Glover brought his Gilga Farm in Ojai, California, to the “Paris of the East.” The bright orange grove served as the perfect backdrop for his playful collection, which featured peach and meringue-tinged workwear coats, suede overshirts, and lightweight jackets with cartoonish patches.

Lulu Li and NIGO Add Their Own Artistic Touches to Moncler’s City of Genius

Artist Lulu Li played with light, perception, and reflection in her one-way mirrored installation, while NIGO collaborated with both Moncler and Mercedes-Benz to create a one-of-a-kind, puffer-covered G-Class titled “Project Mercedes-Benz G-Class Past II Future.” NIGO, a big fan of the G-Wagen, tweaked the color and details of the 1971 model and even renovated the engines from the 1954 300 Series.
