GGucci and Sabato De Sarno: Making Moves for Spring 2026
Italian luxury house Gucci and its creative director Sabato De Sarno are already planning ahead for next spring. The brand’s Cruise 2026 show will pay homage to its birthplace, the city of Florence.
“Gucci Firenze”: A Homecoming for the Iconic Brand
De Sarno’s second cruise collection for Gucci, following the extravagant show at London’s Tate Modern last May, will be titled “Gucci Firenze.” This destination show will take place in Florence, where the brand was founded in 1921.
Celebrity Fashion World Takes Notice
Gucci’s previous Cruise 2018 show in Florence, staged by De Sarno’s predecessor Alessandro Michele, was a star-studded event with A-list guests like Dua Lipa, Demi Moore, and Paul Mescal. This further solidified Gucci’s position in the world of celebrity fashion.
Florence: A Fitting Stage for Gucci’s History
The exact location for the show has not yet been revealed, but Gucci has a strong presence in Florence. The brand has corporate offices and a cutting-edge facility in the city, as well as a global digital client service hub. It all started in 1921 when Guccio Gucci opened his first leather goods shop on Via della Vigna Nuova.
A Contemporary Vision Rooted in Heritage
In a statement, Gucci expressed that Florence represents Italian craftsmanship and creativity, while also showcasing De Sarno’s modern perspective that is deeply connected to the brand’s history and influence. The iconic Via de’ Tornabuoni boutique, opened in 1967, now has stores all over the world.
